ABOUT US
The Motivated Youth program brings to light the philanthropic nature in the youth of our community. The program which focuses on students from the high school and college levels takes place in conjunction with the University of Miami Butler School of Leadership.
The college students will act as mentors for the high school students who are to be broken up into groups. Each group will be assigned one of our community non-profit partners to represent for the event. All non-profits focus impact children's issues in the community. They will evaluate and review the grant proposal from the organization and decide as a group the best way to present to all of the others participating. The materials provided by each charity are to include items such as grant request letters, printed brochures and press articles. The purpose of this presentation is for both the presenters and the audience to learn about the organization and how to effectively advocate its mission.
The students presenting have the responsibility of efficiently advocating the organization and its purpose so others will feel compelled to allot a portion of their funds toward it. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout the presentations to clarify details and leave them with a better understanding of the organizations and how they operate.
Every participant in the program will have the opportunity to decide how their individual allocations  will be made for each organization. The charities begin with an initial amount from the Evensky & Katz Gift Fund.
